Deux façons de faire s’offrent aux designers
quand il s’agit de créer et de
répartir le creux de la voile: procéder
avec des pinces ou utiliser la rotation du
fourreau (RAF). Présentes conjointement dans chaque voile, les deux techniques sont à la fois complémentaires et opposées,
c’est-à-dire que plus il y aura d’un
élément moins il y aura de l’autre...

Le rond de guindant est la courbe formée par le devant de la voile, scientifiquement appelé le bord d’attaque. C’est à cette partie que l’on va coudre le fourreau.
